Drawing the Figure (Part 1)

Part 1

Drawing legs and feet

3 sessions (2.5 hours each), once a week for 3 weeks on Zoom
Wednesday 8-22 September 2021, 2.00-4.30pm (EST)

Price: $150

Price with two additional 30mins one-on-one critique sessions: $225

This course comes in two parts. You can sign up for both parts or just one.

Each session will have at its core a piece (or pieces) of art which we will use as a reference (I will send you images in advance for you to print or display on your screen). We will use these images to understand the forms of the hand and how they can articulate in an expressive manner.

Part 1 focuses on features of the leg (upper leg, lower leg and foot) using works of art of the past as models of anatomical expertise. This will allow you to practice drawing these segments of the lower appendages but also see how they relate to the leg as a whole.

All students will have access to a video recording of each class which will be updated weekly. Please note, however, that due to storage capacity limits videos will only be available for one week after the date of the recorded class.

Can I take the class even if I can’t make Wednesday afternoon?

Yes! See the FAQs here.

These sessions are so rich in content... Gosh, I am one fortunate art student!
I’ve put your advice [from the critique sessions] into practice and I’m already seeing improvements… My drawings seem much more coherent to me.
