This class builds on the skills learned in Figure Sculpture Foundations by focusing on the techniques and principles of the clay sketch (bozzetto). You will continue to develop your ability to work in clay as well as reading and translating sculptural form in the round. Using existing sculptures and casts, you will learn how to compose the figure in clay, capture a pose in a fluid and expressive manner, and further develop your form sense.

This class is perfect for students who have completed Figure Sculpture Foundations or those who have some experience sculpting the figure.

A 25lb bag of clay and sculpture modeling tools for use in class will be provided. This class meets once a week, either on Thursday evening or Saturday morning. Please ensure you register for the section of your choice.

We will meet at my studio-atelier in Emerson East. Spaces are limited so sign up soon!
